Tom Young, Chair, Knoco Ltd and former founding member of the BP Knowledge Management Team and Principle Coach of the BP Virtual Teamworking Project

Tom specialises in assisting senior management articulate the benefits of systematically managing the knowledge of their organisation. His value- adding approach not only stimulates thought but challenges "the way we do business around here". He is a highly respected facilitator and coach. Tom is one of a very small group of individuals who have the proven capability to take a KM program from strategy development in the boardroom all the way to front line implementation. Tom has consulted with BP, ConocoPhilips, Sonatrach, PTTEP, Woodside, Kuwait Petroleum Corporation and various Joint Ventures as part of Knoco's support to the oil and gas industry. Tom is a Chartered Engineer and had an early career in manufacturing and new product development. He then transitioned back into the oil industry and moved towards the business side of the industry, formalised this with an MBA and becoming a Business Manager with BP. Business re-engineering roles in Internal Audit prepared him for the award winning Virtual Teamworking Project and eventually to become a founding member of the BP Knowledge Management Team. Tom now chairs Knoco Ltd. Tom has a global perspective and extensive experience of assisting companies to prepare business cases to support the introduction of their knowledge management programme. He is a Chamber of Commerce Past President.
